Assessment & Evaluation Toronto High-school of Cinema and Theatre Arts Lycée d’Art Cinématographique et Théâtral de Toronto
General curriculum:
The assessment of student progress and the evaluation of student achievement are based on the curriculum expectations of the Ministry of Education (Province of Ontario). They are consistent with both OSSD provincial diploma requirements and with the specifics of our specialized art curriculum: Ministry of Education (France).
Specialized art curriculum – CAV (Cinema Audio Visuel), Theatre: International French Baccalaureate Specialized Certification
These are advanced Drama and Film courses of study which meet and exceed provincial curriculum guidelines and are therefore rigorous and challenging. The related Final Examinations are portfolio and/or performance-based. They are carried out before a panel of specialized teachers and film and drama professionals.
Colleges and universities may grant credit, advanced placement or both to successful students.
Specialized curriculum – AP options:
All courses offered as part of our enriched Ontario Secondary School Credits (Grade 11 and 12) are adequate preparation for the related AP examinations. Some students may require independent study. Our school will direct students to resource materials and will encourage them to write the corresponding AP Exams in May. Our school will coordinate the time and place of the examinations. Exam results are released to students.
Colleges and universities may grant credit, advanced placement or both to students who have achieved high results.
Examination Results: Students control their Specialized Curriculum results. Students indicate to which universities they wish their results forwarded. Students have the option to either cancel or withhold any or all grades if they so desire.
