Admission Requirements

Toronto High School of Cinema and Theatre Arts

Lycée d’Art Cinématographique et Théâtral de Toronto

The Toronto High-School of Cinema and Theatre Arts accepts students based on their academic performance, interests, and talents. Unlike most art schools, The Toronto High-School of Cinema and Theatre Arts does not require auditions. We believe that auditions are detrimental to students who have not had the opportunity to take private lessons. Students will choose a specialty after enrolment so that they do not end up in programs they have not fully understood or expected.

How to apply:

  1. Please print out and complete the Application for Admission

  2. Please have forwarded official copies of complete high school transcripts for the past two (2) years, including the most recent report card for the current year.

  3. Please submit a letter of interest

  4. Please send a recent photograph of yourself

  5. Please address all of the above, along with a non-refundable fee of $200.00, in a cheque payable to:

Students qualify for admission to the Toronto High-School of Cinema and Theatre Arts after grade 9, 10 or 11. Upon successful completion of six Ontario 12M or 12U courses, Ontario high school students qualify for university entrance in Canada, Europe, the United States, and other international educational jurisdictions. 12M or 12U courses are generally similar to A-level courses in Britain and Advanced level courses in American high schools.

Students who have already graduated

Students who have already graduated are also eligible for admission into the Toronto High-School of Cinema and Theatre Arts. Individuals may wish to upgrade their academic standing or enrich their educational experiences prior to entrance into university. Please call for details.
